Shakhtar goalkeeper Denys Tvardovskyi shared his impressions of the training camp with the first team
– Denys, you had a busy training camp, because you trained with the first team and participated in test matches from the very beginning. What are your impressions of pre-season training?
– I am overjoyed, because I am happy to be here. It was my dream to be in the first team of Shakhtar. And, overall, the training camp went very well.
– How did the first team welcome you and who helped you adapt?
– The goalkeepers helped more, of course, because we spend a lot of time together. And among the players, it was probably the defenders, because we are the closest to each other on the field.
– What did the team work on at the summer training camp?
– We worked on all aspects both in defence and attack, on the transition phase, and most of all – on the team play through the centre of the field and the wings.
– How would you rate your own physical condition and the team's condition?
– I am well-prepared, but we still need to work out in the gym more to get in shape.
– The day before, Shakhtar played a final friendly match against Utrecht. What are your impressions after the match?
– You can say that this is the result of our work: the way we played against Utrecht is exactly what we have been preparing during the entire training camp. I think we played quite well both in defence and attack.
– What are your goals for the upcoming season?
– I have already made my debut for the first team, but in the friendly match, so my goal for this season is to debut in the UPL and the Champions League.
– How do you rate the team's chances this season?
– Considering how the guys are working, how the whole team are preparing, I think that we can compete in the Champions League and, of course, win the UPL.
