Free sessions are held in 8 cities and villages of 5 regions of Ukraine

The Shakhtar Social Foundation with support from the UEFA Foundation for Children launched the football training project for Ukrainian children. Currently, sessions are held in 8 settlements: Brovary, Shpytky and Katiuzhanka (Kyiv Oblast), Yuzhne and Kodyma (Odesa Oblast), Svitlovodsk (Kirovohrad Oblast), Zhytomyr and Lviv. Boys and girls from 7 to 15 years old can attend the practice drills.

The last settlement to join the programme today was the village of Shpytky. As early as February 23, 2022, the local community (Dmytrivka Hromada, Bucha Raion) agreed to launch the DYuSSh in Shpytky, but the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine took place the very next day. There were battles against columns of invaders near the village. It was not possible to restore financial and material capacity after liberation of Kyiv Oblast to start a sports school, so the opening of the Shakhtar Social location in April this year became an additional boost for local children who have all the necessary equipment for football drills thanks to the project.

All in all, 640 children will be able to play football at the instance of Shakhtar Social and with the support of the UEFA Foundation for Children.
