The young footballer wins the fan poll for the second month in a row
Shakhtar midfielder Artem Bondarenko has been recognized as the best player of the team in May and June. These are the results of a voting conducted on the club’s official social media pages. The young halfback amassed 3,046 points (40.5%) Taras Stepanenko won the second spot in the rating (2,424 votes) followed by Heorhii Sudakov (1,193) and Oleksandr Zubkov (845). All in all, 7,508 respondents participated in the polling.
Artem Bondarenko appeared in the starting line-up in 6 matches of the Miners in May and June, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist. The 22-year-old player boasts a goal against Zora Luhansk (3-0), the winning goal and assist in the match vs Dnipro-1 (3-0), after which Shakhtar won the Ukrainian League title, as well as a precise shot in the match vs Vorskla (1-2).
We remind that it was Bondarenko who was chosen by the fans as the Player of the Month for April. The winners of the previous months were goalkeeper Anatolii Trubin (February) and midfielder Heorhii Sudakov (March). The winners of the monthly votes become contenders for the Player of the Year title.
