Shakhtar U19 hosted Rukh U19 in the central match of the 18th round of the Ukrainian Youth League

The teams approached the match in Shchaslyve in the leading positions: after the reopening of the season, the Miners won 4 consecutive victories and reduced the gap from Lviv team to 3 points. In the starting line-up of the Orange-and-Blacks, appearance of club newcomer, 18-year-old winger Khusrav Toirov, should be noted.

Minimal advantage of the opponents

The game started one hour late due to air raid alert in the Kyiv region, but this pause did not affect the teams too much – the opponents started actively and showed a high tempo from the first minutes, responding to attack with attack. Toirov was remarkable for his speed and dribbling, on which the visiting team had to regularly foul. Shakhtar created the first scoring opportunity after set piece, when Oharkov headed his partner's cross home, but missed the goal area. But Rukh were lucky to open the scoring: in the 22nd minute, Rosputko made a not very accurate pass to Tvardovskyi, the goalkeeper slipped, and Tesliuk picked up the ball and put it into the empty net. After conceding a goal, the Orange-and-Blacks went forward more fiercely, but neither positional attacks nor quick lunges had effect. In one of the episodes, Toirov took the initiative: after outplaying several opponents, Khusrav fashioned a powerful shot from outside the penalty area – the ball flew over the crossbar. Lviv team had a chance to double their lead when Savchuk shot after a corner just centimeters from the post.

Enough opportunities, but no goals by the host team

The second half began with a dangerous opportunity for the Miners: Hlushchenko received the ball on the left corner of the penalty area and shot past the near post, but hit the net from the outside. An ambiguous episode occurred in the 54th minute: Toirov dribbled in the penalty area, beat one opponent, shook the second one and was hit in the legs by him – the referee, who was near, decided not to award the spot-kick. Shakhtar continued to combine in the opponent’s half of the field, and already Yushchenko bursts into the penalty area from the right and hits the near corner – the goalkeeper of Lviv team blocks it. The middle of the half passed in duels with continuous pauses and several cards on both sides, and in the last 15 minutes, Shakhtar players attacked the gate of the visiting team. goal. First, Losenko headed from the centre of the penalty area after Bako's cross – Hereta trapped the ball on the line. Harmash failed to properly shoot on a volley. The goalkeeper then saved Oharkov's shot, and Yanovych's follow-up from the goalmouth went past the post. However, the outcome of the match was quite unexpected: in the 87th minute, in one of the rare attacks of the visiting team, Kitela decided to shoot from 22 meters and aimed under the crossbar. Hlushchenko was able to score one goal in the added time, but his free kick hit the crossbar. 0-2 – Shakhtar U19 lost to their peers from Rukh.

The Orange-and-Black will hold the next match between national teems after the break. On April 1, Oskar Ratulutra's lads will play against Chornomorets U19
