Commentary of head coach of Shakhtar youth team Oskar Ratulutra after the victory over Metalist 1925 on League MD16
– We played against a tough opponent, it was noticeable that Kharkiv team had prepared. First, we showed character and commitment by taking the lead. In the second half, the opponents scored a goal and had hope for points. It is good that at the end we showed our character again and won. Throughout the match, we dominated the field and should have won, so the result is predictable.
– Did Metalist 1925 surprise you with high pressing?
– Yes. I would say that everyone plays in a combined manner against us: both moving back and actively pressing in front. I repeat: Metalist 1925 acted very organized, but we won!
– Harmash and Tryphonenko debuted in the Youth League today. How would you assess their debut?
– It was noticeable that the boys were very nervous before the match. They earned this chance with their shining eyes and will during training sessions. Both began to get used to our requirements and the game. I hope they will adapt quickly and lead the team forward in the future.
– Did moving of leaders to the UPL clubs affect the team's performance?
– The boys deserved the chance for promotion. The players have been waiting for the UPL for a very long time, proving their class both in the championship matches and in the UEFA Youth League. And for us, constant rejuvenation is a common occurrence. Subject to the generational change in the past, reserve players should take the situation into their own hands, because in the future they will be candidates for getting into the first team or will also prove their level through loan.
– Anton Hlushchenko becomes the new leader, scoring in the third match in a row?
– We are satisfied with Anton's game and performance. We know that he has a goal, towards which he goes step by step. We will try to help him and everyone else achieve their sports dreams and goals.
