Shakhtar youth team won the third consecutive victory and continue competing in the championship
After the game against Lviv, Losenko and Tsukanov were replaced by Bundash and Hlushchenko in the centre of the field, and Savin played at the helm instead of Pohorilyi, who left the team. In the second half, Harmash and Tryphonenko debuted in the Youth League.
Minimal advantage
At the start of the match, the teams played mostly in the centre of the field, without creating danger near the opponent’s goal. However, the Miners took the first opportunity near the gate of Metalist 1925: an excellent attack through the left wing was organized by Bako and Pushkaryov, and Hlushchenko responded to the pass and kicked the ball right into the corner – 0-1. Having conceded a goal, the Kharkiv team began to use high pressing, but the Miners played flawlessly even under the pressure. Valiiev created the only opportunity for the host team near the end of the half – Tvardovskyi saved the shot.
Bako’s set-piece goal
In the second half, the game livened up, and Shakhtar could double the score already after Bako’s shot (the ball passed near the upper 90). Metalist 1925 created a threat several times after set pieces but without effective shots. Despite this, Sabalaiev still found a chance in the 71st minute of the game and equalized the score (Shakhtar allowed a goal for the first time in the championship in the spring). With the even score, Oskar Ratulutra’s team pressed the opponents to the goal, threatening with set pieces. At first, Bako led Rosputko to a shot with a great pass, but the defender shot above the target from the goalmouth, and then Kristian himself decided to make a direct set-piece shot and aimed exactly under the crossbar – 1-2.
Shakhtar U19 won by scoring a goal in each half. The youth team will play their next away match on March 11 against Kryvbas U19.
