Shakhtar women’s team confidently defeated Veres, and Viktoriia Holovach netted a brace
After the game against Vorskla this week, Kozub appeared in Shakhtar’s starting line-up, and Chendei started the game on the bench.
A goal in the added time
At the beginning of the match, the game was even. Shakhtar created the first opportunity after a set piece, when Krevska lacked few centimetres to head the ball after Molodiuk’s cross. The host team also had a chance after Tril’s shot from the penalty area, but Klimova played in the goal successfully. Towards the middle of the half, Shakhtar began to dominate more, and Holovach tried to hit the top corner of Lutsiuk’s goal with a long-range shot, but the ball went over the target. Then Vykaliuk ended up on the pitch during a struggle in the penalty area of Veres – without a penalty. Rivne team responded again with a spot-kick: Tril shot dangerously from the penalty area (Klimova saved the team by pulling the ball out from under the crossbar). However, Zaiev’s team had the upper hand in the first half: in the time added by the referee, Molodiuk made a mid-range shot exactly into the corner – 0-1.

After the break, Shakhtar could immediately double the score, when Holovach won a duel in the penalty area, but hit the post. And in the 62nd minute, Viktoriia managed to carry out the first successful action: Holovach shot off a corner kick, and Henyk took advantage of Lutsiuk’s uncertain play and sent the ball into the goal from a few meters. With a 0-2 score, Veres had one opportunity, but none of the teammates managed to turn Tril’s cross right home. And Roman Zaiev’s team scored the 3rd goal in the next attack: Holovach finished the team’s quick attack with a well-placed shot to the top corner. Near the end of the match, Holovach netted a brace, deciding to make a long-range shot. And the final score was set by Mokhnach, who effectively joined the attack on the right wing.
