Shakhtar beat Antwerp away in the UEFA Youth League round 2

Oleksii Bielik made 4 changes to the starting eleven compared to the clash with Porto U19: Rosputko, Sheleketa, Bundash and Harmash entered the field instead of Bashmarin, Pushkarov, Yanovych and Demchenko.

Goals scored from set play

The Miners possessed the ball more often from the first minutes and tried to overcome the Belgians' defence by playing combinational football, while Antwerp spent more time tackling. Despite the advantage of Shakhtar U19, Antwerp U19 opened the score: Kravets did not hold the ball in the 14th minute after a corner kick, and Delaporte used this mistake – 1:0. It took only 4 minutes for the Orange-and-Blacks to equalize the score: Delaporte played with his hand after the visitors' set piece in the penalty area, the referee awarded a spot-kick that Hlushchenko converted successfully, making it 1-1. In the end, Shakhtar U19 controlled the game for most of the time and put pressure on Antwerp U19’s defence, but did not manage to score another goal before the break.

Goal from Demchenko

Oleksii Bielik refreshed the centre of attack with a substitution: Demchenko took the field instead of Harmash. There was a struggle for the initiative without a large number of chances at the beginning of the second half. In the middle of the half, the teams exchanged opportunities, and if Bundash's shot from outside the penalty area was stopped by the goalkeeper, Godelaine could score within a shooting range, but missed the target. In the 66th minute, Shakhtar U19 orchestrated a left wing attack, Rosputko beat the opponents and made a delivery to the far post, with no one able to finish it off. The Miners took the lead in the 73rd minute: after a cross pass to the opponent's penalty area from our own half, Yushchenko imposed a challenge, with Demchenko being the first on the ball and putting his teammates ahead through a precise shot. The hosts tried to come back at the end of the meeting, however the Orange-and-Blacks controlled the game. The referee’s final whistle recorded a win for Shakhtar U19.

The Miners are to meet with Barcelona U19 away in the UEFA Youth League round 3 on October 25. The next domestic league match will be played against Zorya U19 on October 8.
