FC Shakhtar president Rinat Akhmetov celebrates his birthday on September 21
Bright wins and great achievements, prestigious titles and trophies, all the progress and achievements of modern Shakhtar is inseparably connected to the name of the club’s president – with his love for football, faith in the team, and desire to achieve the highest goals.
During the years of Rinat Akhmetov's presidency, Shakhtar won 36 trophies: UEFA Cup, 14 Ukrainian League titles, 12 Cups and 9 national Super Cups. But during this time, the club achieved something more – the recognition and respect of the football community, the sincere love and devotion of millions of fans in Ukraine and the world.
Shakhtar are applauded by the stands of the best stadiums in Europe, but the president's dream is to hear the applause of his compatriots from Donetsk at the team’s Donbas Arena. Today, Rinat Akhmetov is making every effort to help Ukraine and Ukrainians to bring our greatest victory and desired peace in the country, in Donbas, in Ukrainian Donetsk closer.
