After the home victory over Rukh U19 (2-1), the Miners began a week-long cycle of preparation for the match against Vorskla Poltava U19, training at the Academy facility in Shchaslyve. In addition, the Orange-and-Blacks defeated Metalist 1925 U19 (3-1) in a friendly match on Wednesday, April 10.

On September 29, 2023, the clash in Shchaslyve began with a quick and effective attack by Vorskla U19: Serdiuk intercepted the ball and brough Shevchenko one-on-one with the goalkeeper – 0-1. The Miners led the game after the conceded goal, but did not manage to score before the break. The second half began with the effective action of the hosts: After outplaying the opponent, Toirov delivered the ball to Tsukanov who dribbled it to the penalty area and passed to Halonskyi to make it 1-1. Vorskla disrupted the pace of the opponents through fouls, which led to sending-off of Halas. In the 63rd minute, Yushchenko put the Pitmen in the lead with a free-kick, making it 2-1. Shakhtar U19 controlled the ball in the opposing half of the field and brought the match to its logical conclusion – 2-1.
