Shakhtar goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk shared his impressions of the victory in Poltava
– Dmytro, we congratulate the team on another important victory! Please sum up the match between Shakhtar and Vorskla.
– It is always difficult to play in Poltava, in their home walls, especially since we had a send-off, so the game was difficult emotionally. We competed very well today, stayed in the fight until the end, because we needed a result at any cost. So, the guys did a good job, everyone in the team did a good job in general. Everything is OK.
– You saved the team several times, and it is clear that these are your duties, nevertheless. Why do you think it was so hard for Shakhtar in Poltava?
– We controlled the game at the beginning, and then there was a send-off, in the last half hour we already tried to keep the result. Moreover, it was hot, it was difficult to run back and forth all the time. So, again, the guys did well, each individually and the team as a whole.
– If we compare, which half was better on Shakhtar’s part?
– Of course, the first one. We scored a goal and had control of the game. The send-off prevented us from continuing to play like we know how.
– Do you think the send-off was fair?
– I did not see the episode, I was far away, so I cannot give any comment now.
– You said that it is not easy to play here because of the strength of the walls of Poltava, and you know that better than anyone else. What exactly is the strength of these walls and what did you feel when you returned to your home stadium and saw your former teammates?
– Of course, I have the best and warmest feelings. I was happy to meet friends I played with. A very good team, good fans. Everyone is fighting for each other, so it is hard to play here.
– Shakhtar will have another game against Vorskla this season – in the Ukrainian Cup final. What will the match be like?
– It will be twice as difficult, I think, because it is a Cup game. The Cup is always more difficult than the championship, so we will prepare for a very serious and tough game.
– Are you feeling worried now because of the responsibility for the result?
– No, we are confident. We cannot lose points now, because we have a goal – the title. And we need to move towards it.
