– We were preparing and understood that it was going to be a difficult game. In women’s football, the factor of the first goal has a big psychological effect, and it probably threw the team off balance. Also, an early conceded goal in the second half destroyed their faith in the possibility of changing the course of the match.
– It was noticeable that Mariia Vykaliuk helped her teammates in defence. Tell us, what tasks did Mariia have and did she manage to accomplish them?
– Each player had personal tasks for the game. Mariia had to level out the left wing and, moreover, to impose her game. Perhaps, she accomplished the first task and helped in the central zone and defence, but in terms of playing for herself, she did not quite manage it. Of course, there is a desire and effort to help the team, and now Mariia Vykaliuk’s performance is much more diverse than last year.
– You made several substitutions in the second half. Did the players manage to get into the game?
– Those who came on in the second half managed to stabilise the game, because at the beginning of the second half, the players who returned from Ukraine national teams could not fully withstand the required intensity of high-speed and functional work due to the lack of rest. We used substitutions to save players and stabilise the gaps in the middle zone.
– Shakhtar will face Ladomyr in an away match in four days. Tell us, what will be the preparation for the game?
– The team have two days to prepare for the next round, so we will hold a recovery training session on Monday, and a pre-match training session on Tuesday.
