Shakhtar participates in the #Morethanfootball Action Weeks social project for the eighth year in a row
In February 2024, FC Shakhtar was the first among the UPL clubs to create a football team for amputees later named Shakhtar Stalevi. The main mission of the Shakhtar Stalevi project is the rehabilitation and support of Ukrainian defenders and civilian population through sports.
Unfortunately, the hostilities continue, the number of people with amputations is increasing – not only military personnel, but also civilians who constantly suffer from missile attacks.
#Morethanfootball Action Weeks, a global event of EFDN for the European football community to increase awareness of social responsibility programmes and the role they can play in people's lives, are currently being held.
FC Shakhtar aims to create all the conditions for the integration of amputees into an active life and supports #Morethanfootball Action Weeks for the eighth year in a row. 2022 was an exception due to full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February. Among the annual initiative participants are also Juventus, Barça Foundation, Chelsea Foundation, Inter Campus, Eredivisie, Club Brugge, KSI, Legia Warsaw, Lega Series A, Pro League and others.
