Shakhtar women's team played against Ladomyr away on the Vyshcha League second stage MD 4

Shakhtar women’s team head coach Roman Zaiev chose a 3-5-2 formation and the following starting line-up for the match against Ladomyr: Ustinova took place between the sticks, Henyk, Krevska and Kravchuk played as defenders, Starukhina, Yanieva, Maslovska, Mokhnach and Mostova appeared in the midfield, with Vykaliuk and Molodiuk acting as forwards.

Half in a struggle

The Miners actively started the match, and in the first attack Yanieva, put clear Vykaliuk after interception, but at the last moment Cherednychenko knocked the ball off the attacker. Ladomyr attacked in response, and Ariana Cherednychenko had a chance to open the scoring through a close-range shot after a pass from the right corner from Korotchuk – wide. In the 17th minute, the pair of Starukhina and Krevska organized a wonderful attack down the right flank, with Mostova finishing – high. In the next episode, Vykaliuk found herself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but made a mistake during dribbling and Cherednychenko blocked the attempt in the tackle. Then the game turned into a positional struggle. Cherednychenko found Korotchuk through a diagonal pass after a rebound in the central part, with the latter handling the ball and shooting from beneath the defender, but Ustinova turned it for a corner. At the end of the half, the Orange-and-Blacks managed to advance the ball into the final third, and Molodiuk sent the ball past the goalkeeper after delivery from Vykaliuk.

Ten players and Vykaliuk's goal

The second half began with a scoring opportunity for the Miners: Kravchuk crossed to Molodiuk from a free kick, who decided to carry out a delivery for Vykaliuk to finish it off after approaching the goal of Ladomyr, but Dovhanyk blocked the attempt in the tackle. Shakhtar looked more ambitious and played fluidly on the opposing half. In the 55th minute, after a corner kick from the right, Maria Vykaliuk could have scored: she was the first on the ball, but sent it near the post. In the next attack, Molodiuk shot from a medium distance after being fed by Mokhnach – wide. In the 69th minute, Roman Zaiev refreshed the midfield line with a substitution: Zavidova appeared instead of Mokhnach. Shakhtar continued to attack and Yuliana had an opportunity to double the advantage after breaking free, however she hit the goalkeeper. Vykaliuk threatened in two minutes – high. In the 81st minute, Yelyzaveta Molodiuk received a second booking for a foul in the midfield and left the field. Despite playing short-handed, the Orange-and-Blacks continued to control the ball and converted the advantage in the added time: Maslovska passed the ball to Vykaliuk on the flank where Mariia hit the bottom corner after beating two defenders.

2-0 – Shakhtar defeated Ladomyr with one man down. Roman Zaiev’s side will entertain Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih in the next round at the Kniazha Arena in Shchaslyve on April 24.
