Shakhtar U19 defeated their Zorya Luhansk U19 counterparts in the 25th round of the Ukrainian Youth League in Shchaslyve
Head coach of Shakhtar U19 Oleksii Bielik applied squad rotation compared to the previous match, and Barchenko, Sheleketa and Harmash entered the field from the first minutes.
Wide-open half
The opening minutes passed in mutual struggle with a large number of fouls. Later the Miners started to control the ball on the part of the field of Zorya U19 and were the first to create a goal-scoring opportunity: Harmash made a shot into the near corner from the penalty area line – Nabyt saved it. Opponents acted at a high pace, toe-to-toe and in a constant fight for the ball. The visiting team pressed the Miners and after losing the ball they quickly went into defence, preventing the Orange-and-Blacks from developing a quick attack. In the 32nd minute, as a result of a struggle near the penalty area of Zorya U19, the referee awarded a set piece, after which Losenko made a dangerous shot – the goalkeeper eliminated the threat while falling. In the next episode, Sheleketa made a direct pass from the left wing to Harmash for the run, the latter made a one-touch pass to Bundash for a shot, but Vasyl lacked accuracy.
Difficult and important victory
The second half began with control of the ball and combination actions of the Orange-and-Blacks in the half of the field of the visiting team. In the 52nd minute, Pushkarov moved from the wing, having received a pass from Bundash, and made a long-range shot into the goalkeeper’s hands. Luhansk team responded with Chubov’s curved shot from the penalty area – Barchenko blocked it. In the 60th minute, Zorya U19 organized a quick counterattack after Benediuk’s throw-in to Savin, who made a one-touch half volley above the crossbar. Two minutes later, the coaching staff of Shakhtar U19 made a double substitution and fielded Tiutiunov and Bezkleinyi. Luhansk team continued to attack, and Chubov did not convert the killer close-range opportunity after Bairuk’s throw-in from the wing. In the 72nd minute, the Miners moved away from their own goal, Yushchenko could have opened the scoring after Sheleketa’s cross, but Oleksandr hit the goalkeeper. In the 81st minute, the scoring was opened after Nabyta’s mistake: when kicking the ball clear, he hit a defender, from whose back the ball deflected off into the net. In the time added by the referee, the Miners scored for the second time: Tsukanov found Bezkleinyi with a throw-in, the latter ran into the penalty area and passed to free Myts for a shot – 2-0.
