Shakhtar women's team hosted Kryvbas on the Vyshcha League second stage MD 5
There were the following changes in Shakhtar women’s team starting eleven compared to the match against Ladomyr: Vykaliuk appeared in the central striking position instead of the disqualified Molodiuk, Zavidova played as a right winger from the first minutes, with Zoborovets getting back to the midfield.
A half with no chances
The Miners entered the game more actively and, taking the ball under their control, took the territorial advantage. However, the visitors were the first to create a scoring opportunity: Kozishkur crossed from the right corner to the goal area where Semkiv headed the ball from the near post, but Zavidova neutralized the threat by clearing it off. Then the opponents started to play toe-to-toe, taking turns in possession of the ball without any particular danger. Subsequently, the Orange-and-Blacks unsuccessfully tried to pass through the dense defence of the opponents, using flank runs followed by a cross to the penalty area. At the end of the half, there was a change in positions between Vykaliuk and Zavidova, but no one created at least one scoring episode before the break.
A penalty decided the outcome of the match
After the break, Shakhtar coaching staff made a substitution: Chendei took the field instead of Zavidova. In the 60th minute, the Miners attacked positionally and were close to opening the score: Vykaliuk crossed from the wing to Starukhina who handled the ball and tricked the opponent, but hit Klimutina. Kryvbas immediately counterattacked in response. Within a minute Henyk brought Tian down in the penalty area and the referee pointed to the spot: Ustinova parried Semkiv's shot, but Violeta Tian hit the goal. The visitors started using a low block and played defensively, while Shakhtar attacked and tried to equalize. In the 76th minute, Chendei did not take advantage of a great opportunity, when Vykaliuk could not finish it off after a cross. Before the final whistle, the Miners were in Kryvbas’s half of the field, attacked and acted aggressively, but failed to break through the opponents' dense defence.
