April 25, Lebedyn, LNZ-Arena, 12:00

Match build-up

The Miners continue their title race and reduced the gap from the 1st spot to 5 points thanks to the victory over Zorya U19 (2-0) with a match in hand. In the second part of the season, the Orange-and-Blacks are playing more successfully at home, defeating Kolos U19 (2-0), Minaj U19 (3-2), Rukh U19 (2-1) and sharing points with Kryvbas U19. They only beat Oleksandriia U19 (2-0) in 3 away matches instead. Before the meeting with LNZ U19, Oleksii Bielik's side are in the 2nd spot of the championship with 56 points (18 wins, 2 draws and 4 losses, goal difference: 49-25). We would like to add that midfielder Viktor Tsukanov will not play against LNZ U19 due to suspension.

Opponents

LNZ U19 tied with Oleksandriia U19 (0-0) to break a disappointing losing streak that lasted 8 matches. Oleksandr Kyryliuk's side have the worst defence (74 goals conceded) and ranks last in the championship with 12 points (2 wins, 6 draws and 17 losses). LNZ U19 were hammered by Dynamo U19 (0-6), Dnipro-1 U19 (0-5), Rukh U19 (6-1) and Metalist 1925 U19 (4-0) in the previous rounds. It is interesting that LNZ U19 have not won since the end of August 2023.

Match background

The only meeting between the teams in the U19 Championship ended with the Shakhtar’s 3-1 victory of Shakhtar.

Previous match

On October 20, the clash at the Kniazha Arena began with a quick brace from Tsukanov who successfully played on the rebound twice. Shakhtar U19 played fluidly on the opposing half and Viktor scored again in the next episode, kicking the ball into the bottom corner with a powerful shot – 3-0. The Miners slowed down in the second half, but despite the lead, they did not give the initiative to the opponents and continued to control the ball, not allowing the rivals to come close at a dangerous distance. At the end of the encounter, the referee awarded the set piece towards the Orange-and-Blacks after a collision, with Mazur scoring a consolation goal through a bent shot. 3-1 – Shakhtar U19 defeated LNZ U19.
