Shakhtar U19 defeated their LNZ U19 counterparts away in the Youth League round 26

Shakhtar U19 coaching staff picked the following starting eleven for the game against LNZ 19: Barchenko took place between the sticks, Sheleketa, Latsabidze, Oharkov and Pushkarov played as defenders, Bundash, Losenko and Myts appeared in the midfield, Tiutiunov and Kniaziev acted as wingers, with Harmash taking the central striking position.

The match kicked off with a 50-minute delay due to air raid alert in Cherkasy Oblast.

Quick advantage

The opponents started to play toe-to-toe and the hosts created the first dangerous moment: Sukhanov made a delivery from the set piece to the goal area, where Italo was the first on the ball after a bounce near the near post, but he missed the target. At the 14th minute, the match was suspended for 20 minutes due to air raid alert. After the game resumed, the Miners took the ball under their control and converted the first attack: Losenko dribbled the ball from the midfield and passed to Pushkarov who crossed it for Tiutiunov to finish it off. In three minutes, the Pitmen doubled their advantage: Harmash passed from the left corner to the penalty area, where Pushkarov burst from behind the opponents and scored. LNZ U19 attacked in response and Shtefanko could have reduced the gap, but Maksym, did not score in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper after a pass from Italo from beneath the defender. In the 38th minute, Shakhtar U19 made a forced substitution: Demchenko appeared instead of the injured Harmash. Anton did not have a chance to play even a minute, when the air raid alert sounded again – the teams went to shelter. After the resumption of the match, the Miners continued to attack and control the ball in LNZ U19’s part of the pitch, however they did not create a real dangerous opportunity until the end of the half.

Successful subs

Shakhtar U19 continued to have the initiative and play fluidly in the opposing part of the field in the second half. Thus, in the 53rd minute, the Miners orchestrated another attack: Sheleketa near the penalty area transferred the ball to the opposite flank to Tiutiunov, who headed it for Demchenko to shoot. Oleksandr Kyryliuk's side attacked in response and even managed to score after a set piece, but the referee ruled Mazur offside. In the 70th minute, the Miners played a wonderful combination, as a result of which Smetana scored one-on-one with the goalkeeper after a pass from Demchenko. Demchenko could have scored a double when, after a delivery from Bundash, he moved from the flank, got through Stankovych and hit Dubovyi. Later, the hosts moved away from their own goal and scored a consolation goal in stoppage time: Velihorskyi intercepted the ball, beat Bashmarin and shot into the left corner.

4-1 – Shakhtar U19 defeated LNZ U19.

Oleksii Bielik’s outfit will play the next match on Tuesday, April 30. The Miners will clash with Chornomorets U19 in the postponed Youth League MD 12 game.
