Shakhtar midfielder Kevin shared his thoughts after the match against Bayern
– Kevin, unfortunately, the match against Bayern ended in defeat for Shakhtar. How do you think this match was for the team, what worked out and what did not?
– Of course, the game was very tough. We started pretty well, but when you play against teams like Bayern Munich, teams of another level, you need a bit more than just dedication, which we certainly demonstrated.
– What moment, in your opinion, was key and decisive in favour of Bayern?
– Like I said, I think we started pretty well, but playing against teams like Bayern, you should always expect that they can turn the game in their favour, which is what happened.
– But still, there is a positive moment for you: congratulations on the scored goal against Bayern. It is not every day you manage to score against such a top opponent. What emotions did you feel at that moment?
– Of course, it is a very important goal for me. The first goal in the Champions League is a dream that I pursued since childhood. Probably, I am happy in this aspect, although in terms of our result, I am upset.
– Let’s recall the moment when you managed to open the scoring in the match.
– This moment was a good sign of our teamwork: Zub cut a great pass to me, and all I had to do was turn it home.
– We know that your family was at the stadium. Do you perhaps dedicate this goal to them?
– I dedicate all scored goals, all my achievements and accomplishments to my family. And I am happy that they could be there at the moment that is very important to me, in particular, when I scored my first goal in the Champions League.
– This is the final match of the Champions League in 2024 for Shakhtar, so we can sum up the results of the European Cup autumn to some extent. What are they like for you?
– Of course, it was a difficult year, a busy one. Unfortunately, we lost points where we should not have lost them, and every such loss was painful for us. But we still have two games ahead, and I believe we will still have a chance.
