Shakhtar women’s team started a two-week training camp
On Thursday, December 12, Shakhtar women's team gathered at the Academy facility in Shchaslyve after a month-long break and started a two-week training camp, which will last until December 23. The training programme focuses on aerobic work, maintaining and improving the physical fitness of the players.
The session began with running work and a series of recreational exercises aimed at developing coordination and decision-making speed. Then the players switched to work with the ball, in particular, focusing on possession, technique, and passing combinations. In total, the training lasted about two hours and ended with improving the finishing accuracy.
Lidiia Zaborovets, midfielder:
– We returned to sessions in a great mood. All the girls recovered and started the training camp with renewed energy. The drills are not difficult, introductory, with an emphasis on passing exercises
– It is known that you joined the Ukrainian WU19 during the team’s vacation. Did you manage to combine participation in matches for the national team with recovery after the first part of the season?
– Yes, I did! Together with the national team, we secured first place in the group, achieved our goal, and continue the fight for the Euro 2025 qualification. After that, I had time to rest before our training sessions, which I spent productively.
– The first part of the season is already behind. How would you assess the team's results?
– I believe that we achieved the main goal – to get into the top six, despite the fact that in some matches we could have got more points, but we will learn from our mistakes and continue to work.
