The Miners conducted a session near Kyiv, met the players of Shakhtar team for amputee soldiers, and then left for Lviv

Shakhtar continue to prepare for the central match of the 19th round of the UPL against Kryvbas, which will take place on March 3 in Lviv at Arena Lviv at 18:00.

On Thursday, February 29, the Orange-and-Blacks held a training session at the Sviatoshyn training complex. In the morning, the team had a theory session and a session in the gym, after which the players moved to the football field, where they performed possession exercises with final shots on goal and played small-sided matches of different kinds with certain tactical tasks from head coach Marino Pusic and his assistants for an hour and a half. After lunch, the Miners left for Lviv, where they should arrive late in the evening.

Today, the players of the recently created Shakhtar team for amputee soldiers visited the base in Sviatoshyn. They met the players and the coaching staff of the Orange-and-Blacks, and after the training session of the first team, they had their session on the field of the training complex. There was also a presentation of the team’s newcomers – Vladyslav Moskalenko, Yaroslav Poliezhaiev and Oleksandr Kovalchuk. The Sporting Director of the club Darijo Srna presented them with jerseys with their names and wished them success in Shakhtar family.
I used to play football, I have been a Shakhtar fan since childhood, and now to be a part of this club is something extraordinary. It was very nice to meet the players today, and especially Andrii Piatov
Oleksandr Kovalchuk, player of Shakhtar team for amputee soldiers:

– I was born in Varash, Rivne region, then moved to Cherkasy region with my parents. I was a conscript in the military, and when a full-scale war started, I decided to sign a contract and went to fight. I was wounded in the battle in the Serebrianskyi forest near Kreminna. I used to play football, I have been a Shakhtar fan since childhood, and now to be a part of this club is something extraordinary. It was very nice to meet the players today, and especially Andrii Piatov. I played in the goal and was his fan, was inspired by him. In our current team, we have not yet decided on the positions, we are still training – we are learning to move correctly, because it is not so easy to do it with crutches, we are passing the ball. First impressions are great!
I am very glad to come here and meet the team, to see Rakitskyi, Piatov, who played back in Donetsk, as well as young players. It is cool to become a part of your favourite club, to experience all the emotions with them
Yaroslav Poliezhaiev, player of Shakhtar team for amputee soldiers:

– I am from Donetsk region, I am 28 years old. I saw that Shakhtar is building a team and decided to join. I visited Donbas Arena even before the war, those were quiet, peaceful times. And today I am very glad to come here and meet the team, to see Rakitskyi, Piatov, who played back in Donetsk, as well as young players. It is cool to become a part of your favourite club, to experience all the emotions with them. We are also already building the core of the team, adjusting the training process. The atmosphere in the team is good, so we are looking forward to the matches and maybe the championship.
