The club concluded a long-term agreement with the talented Academy graduate
Shakhtar and midfielder Viktor Tsukanov signed a contact valid until December 31, 2028.
Viktor Tsukanov was born on February 4, 2006 in Kropyvnytskyi, where he started playing football at the school of local Zirka. He moved to the Shakhtar Academy in 2019 and made his debut for the youth squad of Miners at the age of 16. He made 44 apps and scored 10 goals for Shakhtar U19 in one and a half seasons. In the 2023/24 season, the midfielder participated in 13 games and netted 7 goals in the Ukrainian U19 Championship, as well as played 6 matches in the UEFA Youth League. He is a player of the youth national team of Ukraine.
In the winter of 2024, Shakhtar head coach Marino Pusic invited Viktor Tsukanov to the senior team training camp in Turkey. The footballer was fielded in 4 friendlies of the Orange-and-Blacks and scored 3 goals.
