On February 8, the Miners will play two practice games at the training camp in Turkey

Turkmenian Arkadag and Polish Lechia will be Shakhtar’s opponents. The games kick off at 12:00 and 16:30 Kyiv time.

All friendlies of the Orange-and-Blacks will be streamed live on Shakhtar’s YouTube channel and FC Shakhtar app (App Store and Google Play).

Opponents

Arkadag FC from the city of the same name was founded on April 1, 2023. The team became the champions of the Turkmenistan Higher League (24 wins in 24 matches, goal difference: 83-17) and the winners of the Turkmenistan Cup, securing the right to play in the 2024/25 AFC Champions League 2. Since December, Arkadag have been headed by the legend of Turkmenistan football Wladimir Bayramow, who made his debut as a manager. The team consist exclusively of Turkmen players (most of them are in the national team first eleven), the captain is 33-year-old Arslanmurad Amanov, the top scorer of last season is Didar Durdyev (27 goals).

Lechia Gdansk, founded in 1945, is two-time winners of the Polish Cup (1983, 2019) and the Polish Super Cup (1983, 2019). At the end of the 2022/23 season, the team took 17th place in the Ekstraklasa and were tumbled out of the elite division for the first time in 15 years. In the current season of the I liga, Lechia are in the 4th spot in the table, having 32 points (goal difference: 26-17) and being 2 points behind the leaders. Lechia are headed by 42-year-old Szymon Grabowski, the team's most prolific players at the moment are 30-year-old Spanish captain Luis Fernandez (7 goals) and Slovak striker Tomasz Bobcek (5 goals). Three Ukrainians play for the Gdansk-based side: goalkeeper Bohdan Sarnavskyi, midfielders Ivan Zhelizko and Maksym Khlan. Lechia held 5 friendly matches this winter pre-season period, wining 3 times and losing on 2 occasions.
