On February 8, Shakhtar played the test match against the champions of Turkmenistan Arkadag
Head coach of the Miners Marino Pusic picked the following line-up for the first friendly: Rudko was between the sticks, Rakitskyi and Lemkin appeared at centre-back, Latsabidze (right) and Miroshi (left) played as fullbacks, Nazaryna, Gocholeishvili and Tsukanov acted in the midfield, with Shved and Pedrinho playing as wingers and Eguinaldo getting the centre-forward role.

However, already in the 37th minute, Shakhtar took the lead again: this time Tsukanov earned a penalty and Giorgi Gocholeishvili converted it, sending the ball and the goalkeeper wrong way – 2-1.
