On January 25, Shakhtar played a test match against Polish Lech

Head coach of the Miners Marino Pusic made several changes in the starting line-up compared to the first friendly match: Pedrinho appeared on the left defensive wing, Kryskiv played in a triangle with Bondarenko and Sudakov in the centre of the field, and Eguinaldo was at the helm. It should be noted that the Brazilian newcomer of the Orange-and-Blacks Kevin played in the left winger position again from the first minutes.

Game dominance with goals by Zubkov and Bondarenko

The match started with mutual attacks, but without much intensification. In one of the episodes, Eguinaldo regained the ball in the opponent’s penalty area, but he rolled it along the goal line from a zero angle. Gradually, Shakhtar seized the game initiative and opened the scoring in the 21st minute: they kicked off from their goal under pressure, Pedrinho launched the attack and cut off the entire defence of the Poles with a cool diagonal pass, and Oleksandr Zubkov adjusted the ball and put it under the far post with a skilful shot – 1-0. In the second part of the half, Marino Pusic’s players completely took the game under their control, forcing the opponents to defend with the whole team in their own half of the field. Kevin had a good moment when he shot on the volley from the penalty area line after a corner – just above the crossbar. And in the 42nd minute, the Miners scored for the second time: Poznan team failed to kick off from the goal, Artem Bondarenko regained the ball, entered the penalty area and easily beat the goalkeeper – 2-0. A few minutes later, Bondarenko, Sudakov and Zubkov played a spectacular combination, putting Eguinaldo in one on one with the goalkeeper, but the Brazilian shot into Mrozek’s leg.

Tsukanov scores in the second match in a row

After the break, the coaching staff of Shakhtar completely changed the line-up again, fielding Rudko, Kozik, Lemkin, Rakitskyi, Azarov, Nazaryna, Gocholeishvili, Tsukanov, Shved, Ocheretko and Sikan. At the same time, the pattern of play remained unchanged – the champions of Ukraine continued to act as leaders, pressing the Poles to their goal, and increased the score in the 55th minute. Viktor Tsukanov received a pass in the penalty area, turned his body to the opponent and received a push in the back, earning a spot-kick: the 17-year-old midfielder decided to take a spot-kick and accurately sent the ball and the goalkeeper in the corners – 3-0. However, in the 66th minute, Lech managed to score their goal: they earned a penalty, from which Hotic hit the post, but Gurgul was the first to pursue rebounds. Immediately after that, Poznan team almost hit their own goal as well – Karlstrom deflected the ball poorly and hit the crossbar, and Gocholeishvili shot over the woodwork in a second way attack. The Poles started to act with more courage in general, and Rudko saved Velde’s dangerous close-range shot. But Shakhtar did not allow the opponents to create something more.

3-1 – Shakhtar defeated Lech in the second test match at the winter training camp. And after the game, the Miners talked and took group photos with Ukrainian refugees in Turkey.
