Shakhtar newcomer Alaa Ghram about the decision to join the club, his strengths and goals
– Alaa, welcome to Shakhtar! You have already had your first training session with the Miners, so share your impressions of meeting the teammates and the coaching staff.
– I am extremely happy to be here and sign a contract with such a club as Shakhtar. This is a really great club, I am sure that we will be able to achieve many victories on the football field. Training at Shakhtar is a wonderful experience, the training rhythm is impressive. I feel that it is necessary to be constantly focused, but it is good in view of the personal and professional development. I will do my best to help the team win both in the championship and in the Champions League.
– Shakhtar is really a club with a huge history, ambitions and numerous trophies. The team that players from around the world want to join. Do you realise that you have become a player of such a club?
– Yes! Being in Shakhtar is a really great feeling. Throughout my career, I have always worked hard and I understand that I will also have to work hard at Shakhtar. I am ready to give my all and even more to help the club achieve new successes.
– Who did you consult with before making the decision to join Shakhtar, and what did you know about the club?
– It was a really difficult decision, and in general, all important decisions are not easy. Of course, I have heard of Shakhtar before and I understand why it is a big club. First, I talked to my family, who helped me make this decision. I am sure that this is a choice I will always be happy with.
– If we analyse the performances of CS Sfaxien, it is obvious that you conceded very few goals in the Tunisian League. What is the secret of such a result, if we focus on your contribution to performance of the team?
– CS Sfaxien is one of the strongest teams of the Tunisian League, we had a very reliable defensive line. It is also important that there was a friendly atmosphere in the team, thanks to which we could get good results together. For my part, I made every effort while performing defensive duties, and I will do everything possible to continue this trend in Shakhtar.
– At CS Sfaxien, you played using the scheme with three centre-backs, and Shakhtar usually fields two centre-backs. How do you think switching to another game model can affect you?
– Yes, I am aware of it, and I studied Shakhtar’s game model before the transfer. I guess it may be unusual, but it will not be a problem if you stay focused, committed and work. I am sure that I will be able to integrate into Shakhtar’s game scheme, and it will not be difficult if I work hard.
– Tell us about your strengths as a defender.
– I am sure that for a club of such a level as Shakhtar I can offer my concentration and dedication. Shakhtar constantly plays in the Champions League, and it requires regular work and full commitment. You can be a part of this club only under such conditions. I promise to do everything possible and impossible to be useful to Shakhtar.
– You are the first Tunisian in the history of Shakhtar. Do you feel responsible for your people, who you will glorify in the club, and what plans and tasks do you have at Shakhtar?
– It is a great honour to be the first Tunisian in history of Shakhtar. I am really happy to represent Shakhtar and my country. I will also aim for decent performances in the Tunisia national team and continue to improve my own level of play.
– Shakhtar has many internationals, despite the fact that the club is located in the country where a full-scale war is going on. What do you know about it and was there any fear of joining the club?
– Of course, I am aware of the situation, and I think that this further confirms that Shakhtar is a great club, because despite all the problems, it continues to play and show excellent results. I was very glad that Shakhtar took an interest in me. The situation in Ukraine is a terrible and scary tragedy. My family is a bit worried, but I am sure that everything will be fine and I will be able to make many friends at Shakhtar.
– What wishes and messages do you have for our fans?
– I am very happy to become a part of your team and wish you were able to enjoy good football in a free country. For my part, I will do my best so you can enjoy my performance and performance of the team in general.
