Shakhtar Stalevi joined the training camp of amputee football teams
Shakhtar Stalevi and MSK Dnipro Cherkasy teams visited Lviv at the invitation of Pokrova AMP, where they took part in a two-day training camp of Ukrainian amputee football teams. Footballers had several training sessions and tries their strength in friendly matches.
Bohdan Bilko, Shakhtar Stalevi head coach:
– We played practice matches with Ukrainian amputee football teams, and I can confidently say that our team demonstrated spectacular football. I am satisfied with the footballers' performance. Shakhtar Stalevi have high potential, and most importantly, a great desire to train and play.
Such events not only unify, but also play an important role in the development of amputee football in Ukraine. The exercises help in the physical rehabilitation of military and civilian amputees, as well as provide energy and confidence for the future. The teams reached an agreement to hold joint session and friendlies in the near future.
Ivan Artiukh, Shakhtar Stalevi defender:
– Together with MSK Dnipro, we visited Pokrova AMP Lviv to participate in the training camp, where we held a series of training sessions and friendlies. When I first learned about amputee football, I thought it was a very challenging sport. It turned out that it was not. In general, all footballers are very satisfied. Such events help military and civilian amputees to rehabilitate and integrate into society.
FC Shakhtar is appealing to the football community to create teams and opportunities for amputees. Among them, there are many who, sacrificing their health, protect Ukraine from an insidious enemy and need support and the opportunity to do sports like no other.
