The home European games of the Miners will be held in Gelsenkirchen
Shakhtar will hold their home matches of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen (Germany). The champion of Ukraine concluded a corresponding agreement with German FC Schalke 04, which owns the stadium.

The positive experience of the last season shows that Shakhtar has a strong support of the fans in this country – both local residents and Ukrainian refugees. This factor is of great importance to our club. We thank the management of Schalke 04 and the city of Gelsenkirchen for solidarity and do not doubt the mutually beneficial cooperation. We are looking forward to the UEFA Champions League matches!

The Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen opened in 2001 and has a capacity of 62,278 (the average attendance of the 2023–24 2. Bundesliga matches was 61,538). The stadium hosted the 2004 UEFA Champions League final, 5 matches at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany and is the home ground of FC Schalke 04. Currently, the Veltins-Arena is one of the Euro 2024 stadiums. The Serbia vs England (0-1), Spain vs Italy (1-0) and Georgia vs Portugal (2-0) matches have already been played there, and the stadium will also host the Round of 16 match between England and Slovakia. In addition, the Veltins-Arena is regularly used as a venue for concerts. The Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Robbie Williams, Metallica, U2, Depeche Mode, Ed Sheeran and AC/DC performed there. In the near future, the concerts of the world tours of Rammstein and Taylor Swift are planned to be hosted at the arena.
Tickets and season tickets for Shakhtar’s home matches in the Champions League will be sold in several stages. The detailed information regarding the ticket sales will be provided after July 15.
