Shakhtar U16 won gold medals of the Ukrainian Youth Football League
The way to the final
The team headed by Volodymyr Samborskyi finished the group stage in the 1st spot of the tournament table, having 40 points. The Orange-and-Blacks remained undefeated throughout the season and tied only with Kolos Kovalivka U16 (2-2) at the end of the group stage. A confident play of Shakhtar U16 players attracted the attention of Ukraine U16 coaches, so Yaroslav Mylokost, Nikita Kaliuzhnyi, Oleksandr Balakai and Artem Zubrii were called up by the youth national team for the UEFA Development Tournament. The best scorer is Arsenii Foina (22 goals in 25 matches).
The Orange-and-Blacks defeated Yunist U16 (6-0), Kremin U16 (2-0 and 2-0) and MFK Metalurh U16 (1-0 and 1-1) in the knockout phase, which allowed them to continue competing and play in the final part of the tournament.
Final four
Shakhtar Donetsk U16 4-1 Dynamo Kyiv U16
The Pitmen started the final stage of the competition at the B. Markevych Stadium. Dynamo entered the game more actively and opened the score in the 19th minute, when Andreiko moved from the left flank and curled the ball into the far corner. The first half ended with a minimal advantage for the Kyiv-based side. However, the pattern of the game changed in the second half, with Zubrii crossing and Sereda scoring already in the opening minutes. In the 56th minute, Ivaskiv received a second booking for a foul near the penalty area, leaving the Kyiv with ten men. The Miners immediately took the ball under their control and, playing fluidly in the opposing half, created dangerous opportunities near Roienko's goal. Already in the 65th minute, Kostiuk used the quantitative advantage, scoring a magnificent goal from a long distance. Next, Zubrii sealed the win by netting a brace.

The Miners met with AF Rukh U16 at the B. Markevych Stadium on the second matchday. The Donetsk team took control of the ball from the off and gradually threatened Klymenko's goal. Already in the 15th minute, the Orange-and-Blacks took the lead after the attack down the right flank: Kovryzhenko entered the penalty area and assisted Verhun who shot it into the near corner. After a conceded goal, the players began to act bolder, and Zhurakhovskyi had to come in several times. However, the Orange-and-Blacks managed to double the lead through Foina's impressive goal at the end of the first half. In the second half, the pattern of the game did not change, and the Miners, holding the advantage, became the early DUFLU champions.

The Pitmen met with DYuSSh Rukh U16 at the Rukh TC in the final match of the season. The first half was scoreless and passed with the territorial advantage of the Miners. However, the Orange-and-Blacks started the second half more successfully and took the lead in the 46th minute, when Foina made it past the opponent and shot into the free corner. The Miners continued to attack and managed to convert dangerous chances into a second goal in the 71st minute: Sereda ran into the penalty area and passed to Trokhym to finish it off, with the latter setting the final score.
Individual awards
Yehor Kostiuk and Yan Zhuravskyi received individual prizes during the awarding ceremony. Steady and solid play in goal did not go unnoticed, so Ian was recognized as the best goalkeeper of the final part of DUFLU. Yehor Kostiuk received the award of the best player of the final part of the competition.
