Donetsk team will participate in the most prestigious club competition in Europe for the 19th time in history
Shakhtar qualified for the main competition of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League. The Miners got into the league phase as the champions of Ukraine and thanks to a high position in the UEFA club ranking.
The draw for the league phase of the 2024/25 Champions League will take place on August 29. The matches will be held between September and January.
As a reminder, UEFA introduced a new Champions League format from the 2024/25 season. The number of participants in the league phase has been increased to 36 clubs, and the classic group stage has been replaced by a single league format. Each team will play 8 games against 8 different opponents (4 at home and 4 away). The top 8 teams of the league phase will immediately advance to the round of 16, and the clubs finishing in 9th to 24th place will compete in the knockout phase matches to reach the play-offs. The rest will complete their performances in the European Cups (there are no transitions between competitions).
