Yaroslav Rakitskyi leaves the Donetsk club
Ukrainian defender Yaroslav Rakitskyi completes his performances for Shakhtar as one of the most decorated players of the team and the Legend of the club.
On July 1, the 34-year-old player becomes a free agent.
Yaroslav Rakitskyi is a graduate of the Academy of the Miners, for which he played from the age of 13. In August 2009, he made his debut for the first team. He played for the Pitmen for 12 seasons (2009–2019, 2023–2024). In total, Yaroslav made 358 appearances (the 7th best indicator in the history of the club) and scored 18 goals in the orange and black shirt. He won 22 trophies with the team: the champion of Ukraine (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018, 2023, 2024), the winner of the Ukrainian Cup (2011, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2024), the winner of the Ukrainian Super Cup (2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017).
Shakhtar thanks the Legend of the club for all the unforgettable years spent in the team, for the highest level of professionalism and responsibility, for a beautiful, sincere and emotional game, for spectacular victories and trophies won together. Yaroslav Rakitskyi forever inscribed his name in the history of Shakhtar and in the hearts of the fans.
