The Ukraine national team played a friendly match against Poland in Warsaw

The starting line-up of the Blue-and-Yellows included three Shakhtar players: centre-back Valerii Bondar, midfielders Oleksandr Zubkov and Heorhii Sudakov.

The beginning of the meeting was overwhelming for Serhii Rebrov’s side: already in the beginning, the host team scored twice after accurate shots by Walukiewicz and Zielinski, and in the 30th minute, they also scored the third goal thanks to the efforts of Romanczuk. Among the Ukrainians, Sudakov (his cross into the goal was turned over the crossbar by the goalkeeper) and Tymchyk (his shot was also saved by Skorupski) had chances to score. The team managed to score one goal in the 42nd minute, when Malinovskyi led Dovbyk to the goal, and the latter hit the right corner.

The second half, like the first one, started with the attacks of the Poles – Skoras and Zielinski had promising opportunities. The Blue-and-Yellows responded with Dovbyk’s moment, he dribbled the ball to the penalty area on his own and shot past the far post. Miners Zubkov and Sudakov intensified the situation with individual actions several times, but the teammates did not manage to convert the opportunities created by them. Sudakov himself had the chance to score, but he hit the goalkeeper from a tight angle. Zinchenko missed the target – his shot went close to the top corner. Toward the end of the meeting, Bushchan saved the team twice, managing the dangerous shots by Lewandowski and Puchacz. The score did not change until the end of the game. 1-3 – the Ukrainians lost in the test match.

On June 11, the Ukraine national team will play a friendly match against the Moldova national team. The game will take place in Chisinau and will kick off at 19:00. This friendly match will be the final one for Serhii Rebrov’s team within the preparation for Euro 2024.
