Shakhtar forward Lassina Traore about the friendly game against Karpaty, motivation after the birth of a son and the fight for the UPL title
– Lassina, how can you comment on the friendly match against Karpaty? What can you say about Shakhtar’s game and your own actions?
– Such matches are very good for conditioning, especially for the players who do not play much. It was a difficult friendly game, we did not manage to play well, but the main focus was on conditioning, and we are satisfied with that. However, we can do better for sure.
– You played 90 minutes for the first time. How do you feel and what can you say about your physical condition, because according to the Mister, you can do more?
– Of course, I can do more. It was the first time that I played 90 minutes, I am very happy, and I want to push more and help the team. When I am in good physical shape, I will be able to show more good things on the pitch.
– We saw great motivation in your eyes. What motivates you now?
– Like for every player, it is about confidence, and also about the way the team play. I am happy to be here, you can see it on my face. And that is all – just happiness. Everything is going well.
– Maybe your family also inspires you?
– Of course, I had my first child! It is great, it gives you more motivation. There is more responsibility: you play not only for yourself, but also for the whole family, and you have to be an example for them.
– Because of an injury, you could not play in the Ukrainian League during the war. What can you say about the UPL?
– It is getting harder, all teams are getting stronger. When I came here, the battle was between Dynamo and Shakhtar, and now more teams are competing – Dnipro-1, Zorya, Kryvbas. There is more competition, so it is good for us to prepare to have a better chance.
– What are Shakhtar’s chances of winning the title?
– Shakhtar always have a big chance to become the champions, and we are here for that. We do not have any other option except to win the title. We are ready and just keep going.
– Please tell us about your plans. Are you going to the national team?
– Yes, I am going to the national team. Maybe I will be able to see my family.
