Shakhtar gave sports equipment to Lokomotyv Kyiv

The sports complex of the capital-based club was damaged by missile attack in January of this year
On February 28, Shakhtar midfielder Viktor Tsukanov, together with the Shakhtar Social foundation, attended the training session of the team of the FC Lokomotyv Kyiv Academy. A little over a month ago, the building of the Kyiv base, as well as all the football equipment, were destroyed due to a direct hit by a Russian missile.
FC Shakhtar decided to help Lokomotyv with balls and other sports equipment (cones, bibs, barriers), which Viktor Tsukanov personally gave to representatives of the capital-base club. Also, the footballer of the first team of the Miners took part in the training session of the Lokomotyv Academy players, after which he answered their questions, signed autographs and took some photos.

– It is very nice to see how happy the children are. This meeting reminded me of pleasant moments from my childhood, when I had the opportunity to play with famous footballers. I conveyed greetings to the players of the local academy from our team, and also brought sports equipment. It is a pleasure to participate in projects aimed at motivating young people. It is important to understand that joint help makes it easier to overcome life's challenges.

– January 23, 2024 became a black day for our club. It was then that a Russian missile hit the Lokomotyv sports complex, as a result of which the premises with gyms, methodical cabinets and locker rooms were completely destroyed. It is already known that the building cannot be restored. It's good when football clubs support each other, and Shakhtar, which previously lost its training base in Donetsk, was one of the first clubs to offer us help. I am very grateful to Shakhtar for this support. It is pleasant to see the smiles of the Academy players, and a meeting with Viktor Tsukanov will be a great example and motivation for footballers. Despite all the difficulties, we found the location and resumed training the day after the missile strike. It is important to show that the club does not stop, continues its activities and develops. We also have many internally displaced persons who have already lost clubs and it is extremely important to us that it does not happen again, so we are doing everything possible to move on.

– I am very glad to meet Viktor! I dreamed of playing with a footballer from a famous team. I support Shakhtar, I like their play. It is necessary to constantly do sports, work hard and develop, because I also want to become a famous footballer.
