– We did everything we could. We still wanted to cling to points, but we did not manage to do that for various reasons. In general, I am satisfied with the guys’ attitude, dedication and desire to win.
– After you scored a goal and kept the result until the break, did you believe that you could get at least a draw?
– First of all, I believe in my team even before entering the field, not after they score a goal. I think that we built our game correctly and closed the middle of the field for Shakhtar. Of course, I cannot say that they did not create scoring chances and could not convert them, but I saw that it was difficult for them. We, for our part, were able to launch pretty good counterattacks, and if the attacking players had supported these opportunities when Shakhtar left large space behind, we could have widened the lead. In the second half, Shakhtar reorganised and strengthened the game with substitutions. I cannot say that we decreased the pace of the game, but the Miners increased it, and at some point, we could not withstand it. We need to work on it. After the conceded goal, we also tried to reorganise, went higher and released two forwards. It was clear that the guys wanted to fight back, but Shakhtar showed that it is very difficult to play open football with them, because Shakhtar counterattacked when free space appeared, and we lost control of the game. Somewhere the opponent prevented it, somewhere we could not reorganise – it indicates the things we need to work on. Also, the personnel situation was difficult, we played with a suboptimal line-up due to different reasons.
– How did Bohdanov’s substitution in the second half contribute to the game, in your opinion?
– Bohdanov had previously gotten poisoned, he had a stomach ache, so after the break I already understood that I would have to make a substitution. I think that it affected the game, because it is difficult for new players to catch up to such a pace. Moreover, Orikhovskyi and Paulauskas only started training in the general group since Monday. Milko also entered the field, it was not easy for him to get into the rhythm.
