Shakhtar U19 played against Dnipro-1 U19 in the away central match of the 29th round of the Youth League

The coaching staff of Shakhtar U19 applied extensive squad rotation compared to the previous game. Thus, Kravets played in the goal from the first minutes, Reshetnikov, Kostiuk, Oharkov and Pushkarov formed the defensive line, Tsukanov, Losenko and Yanovych acted as midfielders, Kniaziev and Losenko appeared on the attacking wings, and Demchenko had a central forward position.

Quick advantage

The Miners started actively and quickly took the lead after the corner kick: Yushchenko passed to free Pushkarov, who made a cross to the goalmouth, where Losenko turned the cross right home with a shot into the right corner – 0-1. The Orange-and-Blacks were more proactive and moved the ball forward using wing runs. Thus, Demchenko could have doubled the advantage when Reshetnikov broke away from his opponents at high speed and made a final cross, but Anton did not manage to turn it home. The game turned into a positional struggle in the second ten minutes, and the host team created the first opportunity after pressing, but Kravets took the threat away from the goal. In the 34th minute, Kivinda passed three defenders and shot into the near corner from a tight angle – Kravets turned it for a corner. Donetsk team responded with a quick effective attack after tackling in the central part of the field, when Kniaziev turned a direct cross right home. At the end of the half, Reshetnikov shot dangerously, the ball deflected off the post to the feet of Demchenko, who aimed under the crossbar from outside the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Krapyvtsov.

Game under control

In the beginning of the second half, an air raid alert was announced in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, due to which the match was paused for 50 minutes, the players had to go to the shelter. After the game was resumed, head coach of Shakhtar U19 Oleksii Bielik made a forced substitution: Halonskyi entered the field instead of Kostiuk, who was injured. The Miners had more ball possession and threatened the opponent’s goal more often. However, in the 63rd minute, the air raid alert was announced again, and the game was interrupted for 25 minutes. After the all-clear signal, the coaching staff of Shakhtar U19 made a double substitution: Bundash and Dabo replaced Yanovych and Kniaziev on the field. Shakhtar acted at a fast pace, pressing high, forcing the opponent to make mistakes when transitioning from defence. In the 79th minute, Bundash regained the ball and made a dangerous long-range shot (the ball deflected off the defender to a corner). The final minutes passed with the advantage of the Miners, who controlled the ball and did not allow the opponent to create at least one dangerous moment near Kravets’ goal.

0-2 – Shakhtar U19 defeated Dnipro-1 U19 away. On May 24, the Miners will finish the season with an away game against Polissia U19.
