The FC Shakhtar Academy Director Oleksandr Aleksieiev commented on the situation that arose after the match of the Ukrainian Youth League between Shakhtar U19 and Dynamo U19

– Mr Aleksieiev, the events that took place after the match between the youth teams of Shakhtar and Dynamo, which was played on May 10 on the Miners’ Academy pitch in Shchaslyve, caused hot discussion in the Ukrainian football media. How would you comment on the situation?
– In general, it is worth noting that the incident and subsequent mass pushing on the field was caused by the actions of Dynamo U19 goalkeeper V. Surkis who purposefully ran up to the stand with Shakhtar fans immediately after the whistle and began using obscene language and insulting our footballers which is confirmed by the video. Our club has already published this video on the official page of the Shakhtar Academy on Instagram.

In addition, Dynamo fans, whose presence was consolidated by FC Dynamo without prior agreement with our club, shouted obscenities at our club and footballers during the entire match. The general situation with the chants increased the emotional background and tension among footballers of both teams.

For its part, FC Shakhtar used all the objectively necessary security measures, including the presence of police and guards, which in fact ensured security and prevented mass disorder on the field.

FC Shakhtar provided its explanations, photos and video materials to the UAF Ethics and Fair Play Committee for the purpose of a full, comprehensive and objective investigation of the events that took place at the match. Separate explanations will be given to the UAF СDC within the framework of disciplinary proceedings. FC Shakhtar also provided the UAF Ethics and Fair Play Committee with evidence of the beating of our footballer by FC Dynamo player and requested a separate investigation into this flagrant episode of inappropriate behaviour.
