Shakhtar midfielder Marlon Gomes about the victory and his hat-trick against Chornomorets (4-1)
– Marlon, congratulations on the victory! You can easily be called the most valuable player of this match. How can you comment on your performance and hat-trick?
– I am very happy now! It is my first match for Shakhtar in the starting line-up, and I am very glad that I scored – and not one, but three goals at once.
– Let’s recall all three goals that you scored.
– The first goal was after the set piece which we practised with Mister at the training sessions. In the episode with the second goal, I felt that there will be a deflection off the goalkeeper. And the third goal happened after the ball hit the post and also bounced off, and I went to finish.
– You had an interesting dance with Kevin after the first goal. Did you prepare it in advance or did you improvise? And how did you come up with the idea to celebrate like that?
– Kevin and I are friends, we understand each other well, we played together in the Brazil national team, that is why we decided to mark my first scored goal like that.
– All these goals are the first that you scored for Shakhtar. What do they mean for you and who do you dedicate them to?
– I would dedicate my first goal to my mother, and the second and third ones to my daughter, who is in Brazil now and whom I miss very much, and also to my brothers – Matheus and Max.
– Did you feel the support of the fans, because they chanted your name very loudly?
– Yes, of course, I heard them. I knew about the fans of the club even before my arrival, but now I saw them, and it can be said that another dream of mine came true.
– You assisted Sudakov in the previous match, and now everything happened the other way around. So do you already understand each other well on the field?
– It is great to play together with the players at the level of Sudakov, Bondar, Kryskiv. The fact that they are the high-level players helps me a lot. I am glad that everything is going well, I hope to God that we continue like this in the future.
– The second match between Shakhtar and Chornomorets is in a few days. Do you think it will be just as positive for you or the opponent will be able to impose a struggle?
– Shakhtar are prepared for any scenarios. We have our own pace of the game, we do what Mister requires of us, and we will achieve victory with God’s help.
