Shakhtar played against Kolos in the 7th round of the second stage of the Women’s League in Kovalivka
There were changes in the starting line-up of the Miners compared to the previous match against Vorskla: Starukhina played in midfield after suspension, Henyk acted in the centre of defence, Vykaliuk took the right winger position from the first minutes.
Half under pressure
The host team started more proactively and even hit the goal: Kohut hit the top corner on the volley after a throw-in to the goalmouth, but the referee recorded the off-side position. In the 18th minute, Kolos did not convert the killer opportunity: Kravchuk passed to Klimova, Ostapiv regained the ball and made a heel pass to Nadiia Kunina, who passed to Liudmyla Kunina for a shot, but Henyk blocked this attempt. The Miners acted reliably in defence and tried to arrange a positional attack, while Pokotylo’s team met Shakhtar high and attacked in response. In the 36th minute, after the right corner kick, Voronina made a dangerous header – Klimova blocked it. Two minutes later, danger for Klimova’s goal appeared already after the corner kick from the opposite corner: Kohut won in the air after the cross to the penalty area and headed the ball into the post. In the next episode, Ostapiv led Maiborodina to meet the goalkeeper with a great pass from behind the defenders, but Irina did not manage to shoot properly.
Game with no goal-scoring opportunities
The second half started without substitutions in both teams. The opponents took turns possessing the ball without created goal-scoring opportunities. Later, the host team began to seize the initiative gradually and were approaching shooting positions. Roman Zaiev responded with a substitution, and Zavidova entered the field instead of Yanieva. The team slightly reorganised: Zavidova played in the right winger position, Molodiuk moved to the midfield, and Vykaliuk acted in the central forward position. The opponents exchanged attacks, but they did not create any real danger near each other’s goals. In the 79th minute, Maiborodina moved from the wing and shot near the post. In the 83rd minute, Vykaliuk was injured as a result of the struggle with Krasnoborodko and left the field, and Chendei replaced Mariia on the field. At the end of the game, Kolos tried with all their might to get closer to the last third, but the Miners did not let the host team open the scoring. The referee’s final whistle marked a goalless draw.
Shakhtar will host Ladomyr Volodymyr in the next round on May 8 in Shchaslyve.
