May 8 is the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in the Second World War of 1939–1945
We pay tribute to the deeds of the heroes who fought against Nazism and honour the memory of all the victims of that terrible war. Ukrainian land was one of the main battlefields of the World War II, with millions of Ukrainians making a significant contribution to the victory over Nazism at the cost of their lives.
Today, Ukraine and its courageous people are once again resisting the military aggression of the enemy, fighting for the right of the state to exist, for the right of people to live freely. And we know that we will win again in this struggle because truth, honour and the highest human values are on our side.
Lest we forget all those who gave their lives for peace and freedom – 79 years ago and today.
