Shakhtar U19 hosted Zorya U19 in Shchaslyve in the Youth League round 13
The coaching staff of Shakhtar U19 applied squad rotation, as was expected after the match against Young Boys U19 and a long travel, and the starting eleven was as follows: Bahlai played in the goal, Oharkov and Harabazhii played in the centre of defence, Halonskyi and Drozd acted on the defensive wings, Bundash, Tiutiunov and Smetana played in the middle of the field, Tsukanov and Tryfanenko acted as wingers, Lomaha had a central forward position.
Advantage from the start
The Miners started the game actively and tried to reach Kosivskyi’s goal, combining near the opponent’s penalty area. The Pitmen took the lead already in the 6th minute: Tsukanov converted a penalty kick earned by Tryfanenko with an accurate shot – 1-0. After the early goal, the Donetsk team only increased the pressure and almost doubled the advantage: after receiving a perfect splitting pass from Harabazhii, Lomaha beat Andrushko and aimed at the far corner, but the goalkeeper saved the shot. The next episode near Kosivskyi’s goal was effective for the Orange-and-Blacks: Bundash played a corner with Smetana, made a cross to Tiutiunov, who ran from behind Savin and hit the bottom corner of the goal with a header. Soon, Zadoroshnyi could have minimised the gap, when he was left unguarded in the goalmouth, did not manage to properly respond to Lopatin’s pass, and let go of the ball. At the end of the first half, Harabazhii led Tiutiunov to meet Kosivskyi with a great pass, but the goalkeeper reduced the distance to the ball, and Vladyslav shot over the target while trying to kick the ball past him.
Emotional victory with a lot of goals
The second half of the game started with active attacks and a quick goal by the Miners: the second wave combination after the corner kick ended with Tsukanov’s cross and Harabazhii’s powerful shot under the crossbar – 3-0. Later, the Luhansk team managed to move the game away from their goal and create a few moments near Bahlai’s net after the shots by Zadorozhnyi (off target). In the 59th minute, the coaching staff of Shakhtar U19 made a double substitution and fielded Petruk and Demchenko instead of Tiutiunov and Lomaha. In the 67th minute, the referee awarded a rather ambiguous penalty to Shakhtar U19 after the fight between Halonskyi and Kameniev near the post, and Zadorozhnyi closed the gap. The referee’s decision caused discontent on the bench of the Miners, and assistant head coach Malyshev received a straight red card. However, the Orange-and-Blacks quickly responded with good opportunities: first, Drozd scored after a successful combination, and Demchenko made it 5-1 in a couple of minutes. In the 79th minute, Shakhtar U19 head coach Oleksii Belyk refreshed the defensive wings, releasing Reshetnikov and Strilchuk. The substitution worked immediately: Strilchuk rushed into the penalty area and passed to Petruk, who hit the goalkeeper with a one-touch shot – 6-1. The final stretch of the meeting was played toe-to-toe, but the score remained unchanged.
6-1 – Shakhtar U19 claimed a confident victory over Zorya U19 at home. The Miners will face Inhulets U19 in the next round of the Youth League on November 22.
