Shakhtar U19 entertained their Inhulets U19 counterparts in the Youth League round 14 in Shchaslyve
Shakhtar U19 head coach Oleksii Bielik picked the following starting eleven for the clash with Inhulets: Bahlai took place between the sticks, Drozd, Harabazhii, Dankovskyi and Strilchuk played as defenders, Davydenko, Tiutiunov and Smetana appeared in midfield, Yushchenko and Petruk operated as wingers, with Slipchuk taking the central forward position.
Successful pressing secured the advantage
The Miners started the match confidently, playing on top, and already in the 6th minute they almost opened the score: Petruk, having run with the ball from his own half, burst into the penalty area and crossed it to Yushchenko, but the winger's shot went over the bar. The pressure from the Pitmen was growing, and in the 13th minute they converted their advantage: Dobroshtan made a mistake during a clearance, which allowed Tiutiunov to pick up the ball, beat several opponents and pass it to Petruk, who opened the score through an accurate shot into the bottom corner, making it 1-0. Inhulets U19 tried to counterattack, but the Miners' quick attacks forced the visitors to foul, disrupting dangerous attacks. In the 36th minute, the Pitmen doubled their lead: Smetana scored a wonderful free kick from the central semicircle into the top corner – 2-0. Tiutiunov could have scored soon after, but missed a penalty awarded for a foul against Yushchenko.
Pressure from the Pitmen brought victory
In the second half, the Miners maintained control of the game, continuing to dictate the pace and play fluidly near the opponents’ penalty area. In the 53rd minute, the Orange-and-Blacks managed to increase their lead: Yushchenko made an accurate pass from the opposite flank, and Drozd took a touch before finishing off the difficult ball, shooting past the goalkeeper. Inhulets U19 responded with a dangerous free kick, which ended with Bekerskyi's inaccurate shot. The Pitmen did not slow down and continued to press. In the 59th minute, Yushchenko beat three opponents and shot against the post, with Slipchuk finishing it off – 4-0. Soon, Shakhtar U19 coaching staff made a triple substitution: Zheliba, Zubrii and Kostrytsia appeared on the field instead of Smetana, Yushchenko and Slipchuk. The substitution paid off quickly: in the 72nd minute, Zheliba crossed to the penalty area and Zubrii slotted it home, making the score to 5-0. Until the end of the match, the Orange-and-Blacks controlled the ball and created several dangerous moments, but the score remained unchanged.
