Midfielder of the Miners Viktor Tsukanov shared his thoughts during the club's live stream after Shakhtar U19 qualified for the UEFA Youth League play-offs
– Victor, the first thing I want to ask is what are your emotions after Shakhtar U19 qualified for the play-offs?
– Only positive emotions. We advanced from the group in the new format of the European competitions, which is a big step for us. Now we want to continue playing and go as far as possible.
– Speaking of the match against PSV U19, what was it like for the team?
– The match was tough because PSV U19 are a very strong team. It was also a bit unusual – a new field, we rarely play on such fields, and it was a bit difficult after long trips. But we demonstrated a decent play and tried to show our football.
– Let’s analyse all the matches that are behind us. Which one was the most vivid and memorable for you?
– It is probably the match against Arsenal U19 because beating such an academy, such a club, is a great achievement.
– What did the head coach tell you? He noted that you were a bit disappointed after the draw, but it didn’t stop you from reaching the play-offs.
– We approach every game with the goal of winning, and of course, we wanted to defeat PSV U19. We didn't succeed, but we tried and played to win.
– You are one of those young players who trains with the first team quite often. What is your prediction for the match between Shakhtar and PSV?
– I think the first team are capable of taking points and winning. I know they can, and they have every chance of success.
