Training session of Shakhtar women’s team ahead of the game vs Obolon
Shakhtar women’s team are preparing for the Vyshcha League round 11 clash with Obolon to be held on November 6 at the Obolon-Arena. On Tuesday, November 5, the Miners conducted a pre-match training session at the Academy facility in Shchaslyve.
They started with running drills and technique exercises, after which the girls practised passing and dribbling in subgroups within a limited space. Next, the coaching staff focused on the final phase of the attack, where the girls worked on the tactical elements of the game and the accuracy of their finishing.
Yelyzaveta Maslovska, midfielder:
– Since the match against Metalist 1925 has been postponed, we had more time to prepare for the upcoming clash with Obolon. We approach the next match in a good mood, and today we trained in playing format with finishing practice.
– What is known about Obolon and what do you expect from the match?
– Obolon have enough individually strong players, and overall, they are a very young team, so they shouldn’t be underestimated. The game will be intense and at the same time important as we want to extend our winning streak. It is clear that the winning streak has a good effect on the mood of the team, which is a very important factor in the preparation for the final matches of the first stage of the Vyshcha League.
– Shakhtar had a successful October and secured their place in the competitive group in the second half of the season. How important is this achievement?
– Participating in the competitive group is a great achievement because we will meet with strong opponents that will allow us to progress better.
The highlights of the training session are available in the photo gallery.
