Shakhtar women’s team are preparing for the postponed game against Metalist 1925
Shakhtar women’s team started their preparation for the postponed Vyshcha League round 10 clash with Metalist 1925 to be held on November 9 at the Arsenal Arena. On Thursday, November 7, the footballers conducted a training session at the Academy facility in Shchaslyve.
They began with activation and recreational technical exercises. Next, the field players worked in subgroups on coordination and decision-making speed, while the goalkeepers practised according to a separate programme under the leadership of Dmytro Shutkov. The session lasted about an hour and ended with a game within a limited part of the pitch with the use of four mini-goals.
Viktoriia Shevtsova, defender:
– The training session was aimed at recovery. We performed activation exercises and also had plenty of work with the ball in playing format to improve the general mood. We worked on the technique at the end.
– The game against Obolon was your first appearance in a Shakhtar jersey. Share your impressions of your debut and tell us whether your teammates supported you?
– I’m very happy to make my debut for Shakhtar and I am grateful to the head coach for his trust. I will continue to work and do my best to achieve common goals. Of course, my teammates supported and congratulated me on my debut, for which I’m very grateful.
– Shakhtar will face Metalist 1925 in the final competitive match in 2024. What is known about the Kharkiv side and what do you expect from the match?
– We are seriously preparing for the game against Metalist 1925 because they are strong opponents, with a squad mainly formed by the Ukraine national team players. We hope to show our play and achieve the desired result.
