Shakhtar U19 hosted Atalanta U19 in the UEFA Youth League round 2
Oleksii Bielik made two substitutions compared to the opening game of the UEFA Youth League against Bologna. Smetana came on instead of Tiutiunov, and Tryfanenko replaced Halonskyi.
Troubles from Fiogbe
The Orange-and-Blacks took a high pace from the opening minutes, in the 7th minute, right-back Drozd ran out one on one with the goalkeeper, but the latter got to the ball first for a moment. And in three minutes, the opponent took advantage of a turnover in the centre of the field, Fiogbe passed to Camara – 0-1. In the middle of the half, Tsukanov entered the opponent’s penalty area and assisted Smetana, whose shot after a scoop turn was blocked. Later, the teams exchanged sharp set pieces: Bahlai saved the shot by the captain of the visiting team Riccio, and Smetana kicked the ball next to the post. Lomaha was close to success when he pressed the defender, but the deflection turned out to be in favour of the opponent. In the last minute of the half, the visiting team took advantage of the set piece, and Fiogbe added a goal to the assist – 0-2.

At the beginning of the second half of the meeting, Fiogbe took advantage of Tavanti’s pass and made it 0-3. Despite the circumstances, Bielik’s team tried to change the course of the game. In the 51st minute, Kostiuk kicked the ball over the crossbar. Lomaha was close to the goal, but his shot from the box line was saved by the goalkeeper. After corner kicks (and Shakhtar took 10 corners in total), Oharkov and Tiutiunov should have scored. Petruk missed his chance in the last minutes.
