Shakhtar women’s team are preparing for the clash with Metalist 1925
On Wednesday, October 30, Shakhtar women’s team had a training session at the Academy facility in Shchaslyve.
They began with a traditional warm-up to activate muscles. Next, the outfield players switched to drills with an emphasis on navigating obstacles and dribbling with a final shot, while the goalkeepers focused on catching the ball. In total, the training session lasted more than an hour and ended with a 11v11 small-sided game.
Yuliana Zavidova, midfielder:
– After a successful game in the previous round against Polissia, the team had a few days of rest before resuming the training process and starting preparations for the upcoming matches. Today we worked on dribbling, tactical interaction and had a small-sided game at the end.
– The final matches of the first stage of the Vyshcha League are ahead. What are the tasks for this part of the season.
– Difficult matches await us, and, of course, we want to finish the autumn part of the competition in a good mood, continue the winning streak and go on vacation with a decent result. Our goal is to secure a position in the top six of the tournament table, and to achieve this, we need to work hard and maintain our concentration to attain the desired results.
– You will face Metalist 1925 this Saturday. What is known about the team and what are the expectations from the clash?
– Metalist 1925 are very tough opponents, formed mainly of experienced players and representatives of the Ukraine national team. We are preparing responsibly for this match and hope to demonstrate a high level of football and get a positive result.
