– Good evening. First of all, I wanted to say that today my team played at just a fantastic level: I am very satisfied with how we built the game in general and how we reacted to the events on the field. And that is why I can only praise my players. As for your question, I have to say that it is not very smart. Because if you compare national competitions and European Cups, you are not very well versed in football. Sorry, but this is an incorrect question.
– The international break is ahead, therefore, how do you plan to use it? How much time will you give the players to rest and are there any plans for friendly matches? (ua.tribuna.com)
– Our plans will not differ from the usual schedule during such breaks. Of course, the players who were called up by their national teams will spend this time playing for their national teams. And regarding the players who were not called up, they will have time to rest a little – both physically and mentally. Because we have a very busy calendar, a large number of matches, we all need a little rest to approach new challenges, which are ahead of us, full of energy.
– Your team scored three goals in the first 12 minutes of the second half. What words did you find to motivate your players during the break? (Footballconstructor Telegram channel)
– I told the players that if we score five goals today, we will get a day off. But, of course, this is a joke. Regarding the words actually spoken, I analysed the episodes of the first half with the team and pointed out the details that we could improve, the moments that we could use to change the pattern of play in the second half in our favour. And, as you might have noticed, our practice had an effect – we managed to score three times at the beginning of the second half. And in general, as I have already emphasised, my team played a fantastic game today, which I am very happy about.
– Shakhtar have 14 goals scored and 3 goals conceded in 3 home matches of the UPL – the team are very productive in the championship. But, as my colleague already noted, you fail to bring it to the Champions League. – I already answered this to your colleague and I will repeat that for you. In my opinion, it is not very correct to compare completely opposite level of competition in the domestic tournaments and the Champions League. Of course, our Premier League is strong and competitive, but comparing it with the level of the Champions League is unreasonable. They are worlds apart. And I want to ask you to have a little more respect for the players and all Ukrainian clubs that represent the country in the European arena. As for the logistics issues and everything related to such games in general, every time we have to cover some simply unimaginable distance. This has already become a completely normal and usual thing for us, in Ukraine, but when I talk to my colleagues abroad, they do not believe that such conditions can exist and that we have to face such logistics issues every time when we travel to matches. I also talked with your colleagues in the Netherlands and defended a good name of the team, praised my players for endurance and for attitude towards football which they show despite all the difficult conditions. Therefore, Sudakov should be grateful to his teammates for this incredible performance that he managed to show and for becoming the player of the match. And if we talk about him specifically, Sudakov is just a fantastic football player, as you all know, he is an incredible person and a very nice guy. So, I am very happy about his performance today, and I am sure that he will go to the national team in a great mood and will also be able to be useful to the Ukraine national team.
