Opponents

The current UEFA Youth League campaign will be the debut for Bologna U19, who earned the right to participate in European competitions due to the main team's qualification.

Bologna U19 finished last season in the domestic league at bottom of the table with 10 wins, 6 draws and 18 losses (46 points, goal difference: 44-69) and did not qualify for the final part of the tournament. Bologna U19 finished their campaign in the Youth Cup in the round of 64, losing to Kremenose U19 (0-1). The top scorer is eighteen-year-old Tommaso Ebone (11 goals in 22 matches).

Since the beginning of the new season of the Italian Youth League, U19 teams have been reformed into U20 teams as part of the revision of the championship structure. These reforms are aimed at improving the training of players and enabling more mature footballers to participate in competitions. The peculiarity of the new rules is that each club is obliged to include at least 5 players who can play for the Italia youth national teams and 5 graduates of the club in the roster. Every year, the number of such performers will gradually increase.

Claudio Rivalta's side started the new season with a score draw with Inter U20 (1-1) and a victory over Genoa U20 (3-0), but lost to Roma U20 (1-2) and Cesena U20 (1-2) in the following matches.
