Press conference of head coach of Shakhtar Marino Pusic after the UPL game against Veres
– Are you satisfied with the actions of your team in attack and did Shakhtar players create enough to claim victory in this match?
– Of course, we created plenty of moments to expect victory in this match. I think that you, just like me, watched the game and had the chance to see that we had enough moments to score for the second time and score even more goals, so in terms of game quality and our attacking potential, we deserved to win today’s match. However, it is what it is. As for the first half, we created one or two good, quality moments, but perhaps, we lacked conversion in the final stage before the break. And already in the second half, we completely changed the picture precisely in terms of game quality.
– How do you like the atmosphere at the stadium, because you will not see so many fans anywhere else in Ukraine?
– Of course, it is a wonderful range of emotions, it is just incredible. Since football, basically, exists for the spectators and is primarily a phenomenon for the fans, therefore, it is an incredible feeling to be in a fully packed stadium and be a part of this process. I sincerely hope that we will be able to see more of this kind of matches with full stands in the near future.
– Who was the best player in your team today and who was the most destructive?
– I never assess the best or the worst player. Everything always relies on team efforts, the team make the players better individually.
– Do you think Shakhtar gained one point or lost two today? And can we say that Shakhtar already lost the title after today’s draw?
– Of course, losing points is always unpleasant. But I emphasise all the time that the championship is a long-distance marathon: loss of points always happens, but the championship continues and there will be opportunities. Of course, losing points is unpleasant especially at the beginning of the season, just like during any period, however, it does not affect the course of the title race as such.
